The Bromley Astrological Association was formed by Dione Smith in 1984. The first meeting took place on 16 October 1984 with Dione’s brother, popular Sun Sign columnist Roger Elliot, as the guest speaker. His media profile ensured the event was attended by almost 200 people. Dione continued to run our club for the next 18 years up until her retirement. In March 2003, Frank Clifford was invited to organise, with Lynne Beale, the speakers and meetings.
In recent years we’ve offered occasional seminars on graphology, palmistry and tarot, but our monthly meetings always present various talks on aspects of astrology. We’ve also had evenings on astrological techniques such as synastry, rectification, forecasting, the consultation chart, and vedic, karmic and medical astrology.
We continue to meet every second Tuesday of the month at Bromley Central Library, High Street, Bromley (near both Bromley South and Bromley North stations), and hold a handful of Saturday seminars every year. Over the years we’ve also had the pleasure of welcoming some very well known names to Bromley, and the relaxed atmosphere and enthusiasm of our members have made the BAA an ideal place for first time speakers to develop their skills.
