Astrogroups UK The Beginning By Glenda Cole

During the AA 2002 conference in Swansea I was fortunate in meeting up with members of the Scottish Astrological Association. As I am chairman of the Suffolk Astrological Society, I found them to be like-minded individuals who put a lot of energy and effort into successfully running their local group. Our mutual support of each others societies is highlighted by SAA Neptune conjunct SAS ascendant, both groups share the same spiritual inspirations and aspirations and SAS Mercury conjunct the SAA ascendant, ideal for sharing ideas. We quickly formed an alliance and decided we wanted local groups to have more of a presence and more of an alliance. I mentioned in passing that we should have somewhere on the web called astrogroups where all the UK groups could get together and anyone looking for a group would have know where to start looking. We were fired with enthusiasm to 'do something' but following the conference we each went our separate ways and daily live took over. Then on February 27th 2003 I found an email (or rather 3 e-mails,) from an enthusiastic Cathy Meek in Scotland who hadn't heard my comment at the time. She had just been told about it and wanted to revive the idea, she was particularly interested in trying to somehow get all the groups in the UK to connect with each other so that we could work together to do such things as get a speaker circuit going. Re-enthused by Cath's eagerness I emailed back, in fact during the next hour a dozen emails flew backward and forward through cyber-space between Suffolk and Scotland. Meanwhile I began to think about the best time to set such a group up, after all we are astrologers and should be able to elect a suitable time. But, having a 3rd house Gemini emphasis in my chart, I wanted it done as soon as possible. Realising that Moon was due to enter Aquarius during that same evening I checked the immediate astrology and realised that if I waited until just before midnight the chart of this very day would be ideal.
