Arcturus Rising is Bristol’s astrology group, which has been running since April 2003. It was named because the fixed star Arcturus was near the Ascendant for the foundation of the group - and Arcturus is about striking out in a new direction, which sounds good for an astrology group!
We started off small, meeting in a member’s house, until we’d grown big enough and raised enough money to hire a regular venue and invite speakers along. We now generally alternate our meetings - one month we’ll have a speaker, the next we’ll have a discussion evening. It’s a friendly group, and we’ve covered pretty much every astrological topic under the Sun.
Arcturus Rising meets on the last Wednesday of every month, at 19:45, except for August and December, in the Friends’ Meeting House in Hampton Road, Redland, Bristol, and entrance is £4 including tea/coffee and biscuits.
