Local Groups Report
Established local groups should by now have received their complimentary copy of the January/February Journal. You will have seen that the Journal has a new look on the outside yet still has the same high quality articles inside. We feel that the Journal is comparable, if not better value, than other subscription magazines. The Journal is free if you are a member of the Astrological Association plus it comes with a copy of the excellent Transit magazine. This is just one of the benefits of joining the Astrological Association. It would be great to have some feedback on the Journal and on whether it encouraged any of your members to join us.
There is a new astrology group in Cardiff, called Merlin’s Zodiac, contact Tony Briddon at Merlinszodiac@aol.com for further details. Events for this new group will be publicised by Chris Mitchell of the Bristol group via the www.bristolastrology.net website. This is a great example of how groups can support each other. TonyIt’s pleasing to see so much activity on the local group scene. I am getting reports of groups who are now beginning to see some activity after a long quiet period. I have also had requests for the advice pack from Norwich, Cambridge and Newport in Gwent – hopefully these enquiries will bear fruit and I will be able to report the establishment of more new groups to you in the near future.
I am fairly sure that there are groups in Leicester and in Oxford whose updated details I still don’t have. If any of you have information on these two groups or on any other group who are missing from the list perhaps you can contact me at astrogroups@gmail.co.uk
Don’t forget to book your 2006 conference place, there is a discount for group bookings in place which is ideal for local group members to get together and make use of. Full details of this can be obtained from the AA office.
Meanwhile I hope to see some of you at the AA’s Kepler Day on 20th May. Speakers for the day include James Brockbank, Bernadette Brady, Nick Campion, Cherry Ghilchrist, Pat Harris, Nick Kollerstrom and Wendy Stacey. The day costs just £35 if you are an AA member – remarkable value for money when it includes so many high quality speakers.
