John Frawley (he of the excellent Astrologers Apprentice horary magazine) is bringing out a new book. The Horary Textbook should be out at the end of March, and John is taking orders for copies now. It is, of course, all about horary astrology and is intended as a clear and comprehensive modern-language guide to the art of horary judgement. If it's anything like his previous books - The Real Astrology (winner of a Spica Award for International Astrology Book of the Year) and The Real Astrology Applied - this should be a worthwhile read for any serious astrologer.
Further details of all of John's work can be found on his website: www.johnfrawley.com.
Prices for The Horary Textbook: £25; €36; US$53; AUS$69. There's a special combined price for the book and a 4-issue subscription to The Astrologer's Apprentice: £35; €50; US$80; AUS$100 . Payment accepted in UK pounds, Euros, US dollars or Australian dollars ONLY. Cheques should be made payable to Apprentice Books. Payments may also be made by Visa, Mastercard or JCB. Email credit card orders to j@johnfrawley.com Otherwise, post orders to: 85, Steeds Road, London N10 1JB, UK.
Now that the book is done, John is starting work on issue 22 of The Astrologer's Apprentice, which will contain an extremely important article on Arabian Parts in the nativity. This should be out about the same time as the book.
"My name is Lucy Fleetwood and I am carrying out research for one of the modules on the MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology - 'Do astrologers think fate is negotiable?'. Part of my research will consist of interviews with astrologers and questionnaires sent out to astrologers, so I'm looking for interested astrologers to contact me. Another date for your diaries is April 13th 2029. That, according to NASA, is the day that asteroid 2004 MN4 will be passing so close to Earth that it will be visible to the naked eye. On that date, the 1000' wide rock will be 22,600 miles (36,350 kilometers) from Earth's center and below the altitude of many artifical satellites.
It will be passing through the constellation of Cancer and observers with clear night skies in Europe, Africa and parts of Asia will be able to see it as a fast-moving, star-like point of light with a magnitude of 3.3. (This is in rural areas; people in urban areas will probably be unable to see anything because of light pollution).

However, it produces a chart that fits this "Maiden of the Seas" very well!
