Please send any clippings, cassettes and videos relating to astrology in process in the media for the archives to me at 51 Bellevue Crescent, Bristol BS8 4TF, UK. You can e mail me at email Nick Campion. All tapes will be copied and returned. Also, please let me now if you are yourself doing anything in the media concerned with astrology. It's been very quiet on the media front. Suspiciously so. Perhaps another big attack in astrology is just around the corner. I hope to use some of the time that's freed up to archive some of my old files, which are still in piles waiting for proper organisation. One Radio feature was included in BBC Radio 4's 'You and Yours' on 25 October. The report began with extrtacts of Sue Tompkins giving the BBC reporter a reading but then got into its stride with interviews with Sunday Times and Evening Standard astrologer Shelley von Strunckel and her client, the legendary pop producer Pete Waterman. Waterman credited Shelley with saving his career while he described astrology as 'first level entry spiritual studies'. The sceptical point of view was provided by psychologist Chris French of Goldsmith's College. Just a couple of other quotes: 'Paul is the typical Gemini, just like myself, actually'. Cilla Black, 'There's Only One Paul McCartney, BBC1, 2 June 2002. And from the Woody Allen film 'Celebrity' (2002) The scene: a journalist, played by Kennneth Branagh, is hoping to seduce a beautiful fashion model. They are at a party and he wants to get her home. Kenneth Branagah: 'we should go, we should go'. Model: 'Are you a Libran?' KB: I'm a, I'm a Sagittarian'. M: 'Why, that's why you are so impatient. I mean. I'm so attracted to Sagittarians but they're so impatient'. |
